Museum for stamps

Here is my project for the Public Buildings class. We had to design a small museum for stamps which will also be used as a place for collectors to meet.


This is the concept for the staircase, inspired by the folding of a sheet of stamps.
The plans were also inspired by stamps - this one in particular shows how the so called Heart becomes a part of the building - the cutouts transform into halls and the stamps - offices.

The entry for the underground parking area.

Basically the whole idea was to create a "white sheet" on which art and valuable items would be displayed; a box with treasures kept in it; a modernistic and simple design against which the oldest and most valuable items would stand out. The building is covered with a perforated metal mesh.
